Launch draft -- not attorney-reviewed

This document is a plain-language launch draft describing how billing actually works in the product today. It has not been reviewed by a licensed attorney or by counsel specializing in consumer billing regulations for your jurisdiction.

1. Plans

RegDemand offers three plans -- Free, Pro ($49/month), and Business ($149/month) -- described in full on the Pricing page. Paid plans can be billed monthly or annually (annual billing is prepaid and discounted -- see the Pricing page for exact savings).

2. How payment works

Paid subscriptions are created and managed through Paddle Checkout. Paddle is our payment provider and merchant of record -- we never see or store your full card number, Paddle handles payment collection directly. You can manage your payment method, view invoices, and cancel at any time through Paddle's own customer portal, accessible from Settings > Billing.

3. When you're charged

Your first charge occurs when you complete Checkout. After that, you're charged automatically at the start of each monthly billing period for as long as your subscription remains active.

4. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from the Customer Portal. Cancelling does not end access immediately -- you keep your plan's features until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, after which your account reverts to the Free plan. We do not currently offer prorated refunds for the unused portion of a billing period.

See our Refund Policy for the complete statement of when refunds are and are not available.

5. Failed payments

If a payment fails, Paddle automatically retries the charge over the following days. During this window your subscription is marked "past due" but you keep full access to your plan's features -- we don't cut off access on the first failed charge. If all retries fail and Paddle marks the subscription unpaid or canceled, your account reverts to the Free plan.

6. Plan changes

You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time through Paddle's customer portal or by starting a new checkout for a different plan. Changes take effect according to Paddle's standard proration rules for the billing period in progress.

7. Usage limits and quotas

Every plan, including Business, has finite monthly limits on CSV exports, and finite caps on saved searches, alerts, and affected-organization candidates per opportunity -- see the comparison table on Pricing. Monthly quotas reset on a calendar-month basis (UTC), not on your individual billing anniversary.

8. Test and demo billing

During evaluation, RegDemand may run in Demo Billing mode (no real payment processor involved, plan changes are simulated) or Paddle Sandbox mode (Paddle's test environment -- no real money moves). Both are clearly labeled in the product. Only Live mode, using real Paddle Live credentials, processes real payments.

Billing questions can be sent to mandateradar@gmail.com.
